This is not just a bracing lesson. It’s meant to be a pleasant paddle while fine tuning your forward stroke. I teach bracing and forward stroke together because you will be using your bracing skills as you paddle. That’s how it works. And the focus will be on integrating a brace for edging for making turns easier. And also for paddling in the waves without risking a capsize.

When you have efficient forward stroke, and good bracing, something new emerges. Now that you can put your kayak on edge without the fear of a capsize you can use the shape of your kayak hull like it was meant to be used to turn effortlessly. And save yourself a lot of energy by not having to force your kayak to turn. Just edge and let it turn you without effort.
